It is a great house located in Hamilton Forest with 4 bedrooms, 4 baths and more than 3,000 Square Feet. The seller listed with GreatNest in late June. We sold it a few weeks later for $475,000 and it closed at the end of August.
The seller could have chosen to list with a friend or neighbor in the real estate business and might have paid and ordinary real estate commission of, say, 6%. If he had, he’d have paid $28,500 to sell his house. Instead, he did the smart thing: he listed with GreatNest and paid our low set fee of $5,950. As it turned out, an outside MLS agent represented the buyer and so the seller also had to compensate that agent and company an additional $14,250; so total commission paid on the transaction was $20,200, a savings of $8,500 over what that ordinary real estate company might have charged.
