This two‑day festival celebrates the role of fire in the creation of art. Internationally known special guest artists specializing in glass, metal, and ceramics participate, demonstrate their art, and lecture. Each artist will create a sculptural piece that will be installed at STARworks. The special guest artists for 2017 are Paul Marioni, Andy Nasisse, and Carl Billingsley. All guest artists will hold slide shows and participate in finale events involving fire.
Downtown Mebane, NC

The Dogwood Festival weekend kicks off on Friday, April 21 with a Golf Tournament and 5K Run in Mebane. Entertainment and vendors are set up on the downtown streets as nightfall approaches. The festival starts early on Saturday, with festival-goers shopping vendors’ wares, crafts, and items. Live bands and other performers from throughout the community will be on multiple stages throughout the day.

After you get to know the farmers and animals, you can even throw a pot with our local potters. In addition to selling artisan cheese, wool and yarn, our local partner farmers will be on hand offering pasture-raised pork and beef for purchase.

This fun festival in downtown Kernersville features music, rides, an arts & craft show, and a food court. A performance area is set up on North Main Street, providing a venue for gymnastic studios, dance studios, aerobics, karate and many other activities on Saturday from 10AM-2PM.

A selection of food trucks and other vendors will be on hand, and festival-goers also will have the opportunity to purchase juried, handmade creations from fine NC artisans: from deeply traditional crafts to more contemporary artistic expressions.

The newly reopened Doctor’s House will be celebrated through brand-new exhibits and demonstrations in the Doctor’s House. There will be lots of activities centered on the health and healing practices of early Salem, including learning how to make court plaster and herbal tea, see demonstrations of both Doctor practices and home health remedies, and more….plus, enjoy the 7th annual Pottery Fair on the Square (included with your admission ticket).
